If you have boog buds atak / civtak can be interesting but requires a lot of upkeep IMO. Start with your connected Kestrel and AB apps, maybe Gotenna or other decentralized comms.

Just drop the phone in water and get as far away from it as possible.

What's your secondary plan if your phone gets smashed, wet, battery dies, has no signal, overheats, can't be used because of light/ noise discipline, etc?

Care to elaborate on the upkeep?

I have a few other boog buds, and this will mostly be used while out with them larping.

Because i downloaded some survival apps to use in the woods with my friends?

I dont foresee using it for any red dawn type scenarios.

I want to use it for larping and hunting with friends in huge swaths of private land in N. Idaho.

Some of the map features on that look to be really useful for everyday purposes.

Def checking it out.

Dang, apps are now tactical...? I wish I was cool enough to have tactical apps

The only things on my phone are a shot timer app and a medication dictionary. Then I have a Garmin tactix watch for GPS and whatnot.

Is this the larping for which you speak?

Dude, save some pussy for the rest of us.

I don't see any of these dudes wearing plate carriers. Maybe I'm out of the new tactical tummy stick war game loop.

FWIW apps that assist with nav, secure comms if needed, file sharing, weather, first aid and others are a good place to start.
