My M&K V12 sub just started making a terrible noise while watching TV. The signal from the receiver is all static-y and if I unplug the RCA signal cable I get a pulsing chirping sound with just the power cord plugged in. I am using a Denon S720W receiver and haven't changed anything with the system. All components get power from a Panamax power management box, and include the Denon receiver, a tv, cable box, and a Roku. Wtf is going on?

Probably a bad capacitor.

Is the sub power cable connected to the panamax too?
If so, try to plug it into a different outlet without the RCA to troubleshoot, preferably in a different circuit of the home. |
