I'm going with NJ (1).
Then, NY (2) - but only because there are so many pizza places. The state that boxes way out of it's weight is CT (3). That is, some great pizza places in a small area. Mostly around New Haven. |

I think the West Virginia coleslaw pizza is up there among the best pizzas in the country.

1. CT
2. NY It’s one of the only redeeming qualities of either state. |

Boston has surprising good pizza.

Grew up in Ohio and live there now. Best pizza?
The tri-state area, NY/NJ/CT. Went to college there, have eaten pizza in Chicago, Florida, PA, Indiana, California, and definitely Ohio - but by far my favorite pizzas were eaten in the NY/NJ/CT area. Although the pizza my wife cooked from scratch tonight was outstanding. |

Without question CT has the best pizza. New Haven thin crust is excellent, I have a few favorite spots up north from there. Little City Pizza in Simsbury/Avon CT is a pie I constantly crave. Every time I visit family in CT it's a must stop place.

Thin crust pizza is communism

I’m going with where ever that dude was from that was putting corn on his pizza.

Manhattan, around Times Square.
Take the ferry over to Staten Island and the pizza is completely different. |

Knoxville.
Cruze farms has the best pizza. This is the only pizza I've ever had that gets better the more you eat it and the longer you wait. |

Chicago
![]() That's a pizza pie... This is cardboard..... ![]() Truth be told I like it all, I'm a pizza junkie! I like traditional pizza not some of the crazy ingredients. 🍍 do not belong on pizza! |

Staten Island Ferry pizza: last time on the boat I went to the bottom to get a slice...they had burritos, not pizza.
That was 2006, don't know about in modern times. |

NY, NJ, Conn. likely have the best.
Sure there could be a very good here and there in different states, but overall I say the three above win. It sure as shit is not the casserole from Shitcago. That is damn good casserole, but it is not pizza. |

You need to quantify this, there's a scale for every component of the pizza;
the ingredients crust cooking ratio marinara ratio how it behaves after cooking the choice of toppings, did you overload it or not? does overloading it vs. less change the pizza Is it good for the first slice (5 minutes), or is it good for 45 minutes? Does it get better or worse? A marker for good pizza, if you eat the crust naturally, it's probably good. If you leave the crust or force yourself, it's not good. |

Certainly not WA, fucking place is a wasteland in terms of anything edible.

Everyone who doesn't list a specific business is dumb. If you think NJ has the best pizza those people have eaten at many places with bad pizza and know the good joint.
Almost all restaurants suck ass and you all know it, that's why they have an 80% failure rate and it's not high enough in my opinion. |

Born and raised in NY.

I don't understand the thing about states having the best of a certain food. Can't you get the same ingredients anywhere and make things the way you want? Pizza isn't really that complicated that you can't make any kind wherever you are.
