arguably the best Start Trek motion pictures ever.
Except Wrath of Kahn only because of Ricardo Montalban

Star Trek (2009)
Star Trek Into Darkness (2013)
Star Trek Beyond (2016)

It's not Star Trek. It's an action movie in Star Trek land, but that said, they're also fun

I actually really liked the new trilogy (edit: as an alternate-reality to the original show, bear that in mind).

Plus, Carol Marcus in the second one...

From the first series I gotta add IV and VI.   I think both were excellent.   Overall agree that the new ones are outstanding although each was a little less good that the one before.

The opening scene of the first of the reboot is as good as movies get.

Here's why you're wrong.

Star Trek: Into Darkness is a Terrible Movie

Star Trek: Beyond Stupidity

Being a boomer and lifelong Star Trek fan I can state unequivocally that Star Trek IV:  The Voyage Home is universally acknowledged as the best Trek movie of all time.

Don't even argue; it's not worth your effort.  I am right.

Enterprise was the last Star Trek produced, and even its finale wasnt very good

Last movie was Nemesis and it too wasnt great

Beyond was pretty good.

The other two were just awful.

Here's how I remember the reboots:

1) Loose cannon fratboy Kirk fights deadly enemy Lens Flare in a gripping cataclysmic alternate universe along with Old Spock in a cameo
2) Fratboy-made-captain Kirk fights deadly enemy Dr. Strange in a knock-off of a far better film
3) Kirk rides a motorbike around a junkpile with a bald alien white woman alternately fighting / helping

It's hard to top the garbage that's Discovery, it's so woke you'll choke on you're own vomit.

I was absolutely against watching the first one with Chris Pine.
Waited over 2 years to watch it. Turns out they couldn't have cast that movie any better.
Second one was OK... don't think there's gonna be another one with the same cast.
Especially without . Poor bastard. He was  also in a really good episode of Criminal Minds.

The ONLY part I enjoyed was the fact that they had CWIS like emitters on the hull. Drove me nuts how they used to just have a hole.

Everything outside of that, no.

I actually enjoyed all the new ones as well, I mean Wrath of Khan is probably one of the best Sci-fi motion pictures ever made (IMHO) but the new trilogy were a welcome set in what's generally a sea of garbage.

If Anton Yelchin hadn't died i would of seen a 4th movie.  But without the full cast it would seem wrong.  My only issue with the 3rd movie was the whole action flick thing.  other than that it was not bad, not good.

LOL.....

No.

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan is fantastic as a stand alone film. It truly was well done for the lack of support and low budget.
Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home is an enjoyable film that was more humorous and lighthearted.
Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country is everything that made STII fantastic, but with support.

The Kelvin Timeline is utter garbage.

I do believe #VI was a great way to go out.  R.I.P. Nimoy, Kelley, Whitney, Doohan, and anybody I've forgotten.

"Into the Darkness" is one of my favorite movies.  The story and visuals were epic.  The acting was really good and Benedict Cumberbatch made a really good villain.  I agree that it doesn't fit well into the trek universe, but that doesn't make it a bad movie.

Well stated. My three favs.

However, STV: The Final Frontier is shit. VI was definitely “The Apology.” And a great one at that.

That's why you only watch the even numbered Trek films.   Though I did enjoy ST:TMP even with the awkward dick bulges in the uniforms.

Galaxy Quest was the best Start Trek flick!

As for the reboot, meh. Stunning visuals and the cast was okay - but, I couldn't get even halfway through the third one. I was just bad.

And this is coming from a guy who can speak every character's lines in nearly the entire original series.
