Galaxy S9. Bills are paid. Maybe made a meme or two the SS doesn't approve of but other than that not sure what's going on here.

Got home tonight and phone says NO SIM CARD...INSERT SIM CARD.

Phone has a case so no option it was ever removed. I cant make calls or text
Was working 4 hours ago but not now.

Any ideas?

Take out the sim card, and then reinsert it.

I have a Moto G7 Power, every once and a while when I restart, that happens.

Maybe call T-Mobile support and see what they say?

eject it and re-insert it.

eject it, clean it with a q-tip and alcohol, then re-insert it.

turn it off and on again.

Its literally telling you it doesn't recognize the sim card.

Likely possibilities:
1. phone is dead
2. sim card is dead
3. one of contact points between the phone and sim card have some pocket dirt on them.

Good advice, I would try those if I were OP.

Do Sprint phones have SIMs now since the merger? I thought they were a CDMA carrier.

Yes. And OP call customer service and they will send you a new sim card for free. Updated I guess since they went to t mobile. I have one on the way

I'm not an android user, but on iPhones, there's an option to "Reset Network Settings." That's the first thing I'd try (you don't lose your data).
If you can find an option like that under your general settings, try it. If the error persists, it's likely the SIM or the hardware.

Someone spoofed or changed your SIM card info to steal your crypto?

Since sprint got bought by t-mobile, they sent me a new t-mobile sim card for the phones on my account. Might be related.

My phone had been doing the same thing - losing contact with the sim card periodically. The new card has been fine so far, fingers crossed.

Try reinserting the sim card or rebooting the phone. Or call customer service to see if they will send you a replacement card.

My LG phone used to do this all the time, the SIM card just likely needs to be cleaned. Sometimes dust and junk can infiltrate its way into the sim card and it'll lose contact.

Debit/credit card "chip" cards do this alllll the time as well, more-so as they get a lot more wear and tear than a SIM card.

Probably dropped it and jiggled the SIM out of connection.

Another vote for re-seat the card.

He needs his phone to read the sim card to do that

Restart your phone.

If that doesn’t work, shut it down, pull out sim, wipe it off, reinsert it, power up phone.

And if that doesn’t work, get a new sim.

Actually, 611 should work regardless.

My S8 used to do this occasionally.

I could always fix it by rebooting the phone, for a while at least.

I finally fixed it permanently by taking the card out, cleaning it, and reseating it.

It seemed to happen more frequently after system updates.

My oldest boy's phone did the same thing Friday night.  I pulled it out and shoved it in again, worked fine after a reboot.

Saturday afternoon, he says it is saying it again.  Funny thing, he can still text (not sure about voice.

This is a T-Mobile SIM in an unlocked cheap Samsung phone.  We've been T-Mobile for several years, no changing involved here.

I have read that T-Mobile is sending new sims to Sprint customers with 5G equipment.

Another vote for remove/reinsert. Optional cleaning technique is to use a pencil eraser, removes all the crap and any oxidation that accumulates on the surface. Just don't get too aggressive with it

After the Nextel Merger you can probably go in the store and get a sim for the combined network free

It's probably the government tracking you.  Smash your phone and get rid of all your guns and ammo.  They are coming for you!

Go to a Sprint Store and get a new SIM, if you’re lucky that might do it: maybe you can do it at a T-Mobile store. I wouldn’t bet my life on it though.
The average American seems to have been stupefied (not you), so if you get run around in circles, by the stores, don’t be shocked. But keep at it.
