Like cigar heaven out there, especially Ybor City. Cubans everywhere, hand rolled house sticks at every shop, and nothing beats a strong Cuban coffee with a good cigar

Lived in Tampa for 2 years circa 1991-92, when in college. Spent a LOT of time in Ybor City area. Lots of cigars, coffee and rum, and cuban sandwiches. Mmmmm good times.

Those pictures remind me of the King Corona Cigars Bar And Cafe in Ybor. Spent many hours there. There actually use to be a  barber area where you could get a hair cut while smoking a cigar. Love that place.

As a matter of fact it looks like the King Corona Cigars Bar And Cafe

Ybor City is well past its prime and nothing special and I’ve been twice, the last being over late summer.

I'd agree with you. That said though it's still a place to visit and it still has an allure to it. It just depends on what you mean by,"Ybor City is well past its prime.

If your talking about clubbing well yeah it is. But there's way more to Ybor than just night clubs. Ybor has a certain charm to it when you walk down the sidewalks.

When you see the old store fronts, smell the food, smoke cigars sitting out front of the King Corona sipping a Cuba coffee or sipping a beer and a rooster walks by you. Then I think to myself I bet he'd be good on my grill lol.

Oh yeah visit a cigar factory or brewery and drink locally brewed beer.

Is it past it's prime maybe, maybe not. It just depends on what your looking for.

I agree though it use to have a way better night life if you were into going to night clubs. But there is more to a place than just clubs.

I remember the parades, the Halloween parade especially and wearing costumes at night and the big street parties with the lights, music and food and drink.

This fake POLITICALLY motivated COVID virus has ruined alot. The death rate in Florida since Friday.......41 deaths out of over 30 million people perhaps more since the Northerns fleeing their shithole LIBERAL SOCIALIST EXTREMISTS run states.

I'd bet 1000.00 maybe and I emphasize maybe one death might have been actually caused by just COVID only with no preexisting conditions out of that 41.

Sorry for getting on this fake PANDEMIC kick. But it has effected Ybor's economy also and the entertainment there. Fortunately Florida has came back to life because of our great GOVERNOR .

When you get to Tampa Bay just ask anyone how to get to Ybor from where your stay. For anyone coming here.  Also you do not have to wear masks outside and some businesses do not enforce wearing mask because it's not a law and really just suggestion.

I lived in Tampa from 95-2000. Ybor was the place to go at that time. I have see more than a few celebrities & athletes there that would not have been able to do what they were doing w/ all the cameras that are around today. Santana & Rick west were the hot DJs at the time...

Been to that exact spot in your second picture. The Cuban girl behind the counter makes a mean cafe con leche.
