Cool stuff in this thread!
Helmet of Cpl. Bob F. Metcalf, USMC WWII.
It is a pretty early rig with early straps and hardware as well as a white rayon Hawley liner. There is even a large mesh cargo net on the helmet under the 1st pattern cover. He brought this home with him in his duffel bag which I also have, and it is just as he and his family left it.
Bob enlisted in the Marines at 17 years of age in the summer of 1943 after turning down a nomination to West Point by his Kansas congressman. He graduated from USMC Ordinance Supply School in San Francisco, CA shortly thereafter. Cpl. Metcalf would see action with the 4th Marine Division on the island of Saipan and turn 19 while on the island. Later his ordinance supply unit would be attached to the 3rd Marine Division for the assault on Iwo Jima where he would land on D+6.
Cpl. Metcalf was wounded on Iwo Jima in the back by shrapnel and received the Purple Heart Medal as well as several other service medals. He was discharged in 1946 and would go to serve in Korea as well.

Folk Art planter I found in a trash pile.
It was so unique I had to keep it for my yard.

1973 Marlin 1894 octagon barrel in 44mag less than 3000 produced. I'm sure others here have one but not very many. It's one of many firearms I inherited from my grandfather.

Piece of the original main curtain that hung in Radio City Music Hall for 70 years.
I doubt anyone else here would have that.

PRC-1099 HF radio.  Same form factor and same accessories as the PRC-25 and PRC-77, but it does 1.6 to 30 MHz.

This thread has been so much fun.  I hate to see it die.  People here have some real interesting stuff.

I don’t know if these are still made, but this a full pack circa 2003.

Not hard to acquire.  Just not sure how many do and curious if anyone else here has the craze in their family.  And I don't want this thread to die.  It's awesome.

Another thread reminded me of this pewter belt buckle I have that commemorates the Shippingport nuke plant which was the first commercial nuke plant and the current site of my last station, Beaver Valley.

It was given to me by one of the old dogs that worked at Shippingport and BV.

Weird and stretching the topic, but I was going through some mementos and found the NRC event report from the first reactor scram I ordered in the commercial world. Weird thing to save, but I'm a nerd like that.
