Ditto. If you were trading 45 for more 9mm that would be different. Otherwise just don't. You'll regret it.

Absolutely not! I actually wish I had gotten a G21 instead of a 17, more caliber conversions.

Yeah, get rid of those .45's. And the FMJ bullets. FMJ isn't magic like those hollow point bullets.
Although if they could I imagine a whole lot of Germans and Japanese would have a different opinion of the effectiveness of .45 FMJ ammo.
Along with various and assorted bad guys.
200gr. semi wadcutters work real nice too out of 1911.
Considering the current situation I would not be too quick to get rid of anything that will go bang.

I have a P220 and lots of 45 ACP. I keep it because it's a common caliber, it's fun to shoot and easy to reload. It's been around a century and I don't see it going away for a while yet. It may even have a resurgence because it's retro

If you want to get rid of it, do it. Or don't. You know your situation/wants/etc. better than we do.

No way, keep it. When capacity may become limited, use bigger hammers.

When 9mm JHPs cant be sourced, a .45 wadcutter or maybe just ball will do just fine.

If this is a quandary for you in January of 2021, you've had a break with reality.

Sit on your 45 stuff for a year or two, you'll get the itch again.  Just bought a 45 can and am selling other guns to fund a nighthawk 1911 as I type.

I would wait 6-12 months and see how things shake out first.

Obviously. That was the only thing on the shelf at the LGS so it must be pretty popular.

I've completed the handgun caliber cycle and currently have one 9mm for ccw and two .45's which are single stacks. You come to your own conclusions over time, not good or bad necessarily, but just what you feel works for you. You don't have to conform to someone else's ideas of what's perfect or their idea of what's best.
I've sold and bought so many guns over the years because my ideas and experiences help me narrow it down to what works the best for me, sometimes it does just come down to feels.

I'm still "stuck" with .45ACP at the office, so I won't be parting with them.

Sad point about guns holding <10 rounds coming back into favor, because you're probably right.
