That is all. Time for shortrib porn

and what do you do with those delicious leftovers?

Short rib ramen made with a nice chinese braising liquid (beef bones, rice wine, black cardamom, cinnamon, lemon grass, anise, clove, palm sugar, black vinegar)

Guys - shut up.

They're cheap because no one realizes it. Do you really want that to change?

Hell yeah. I dont have much luck finding them around me.

Way to expensive for what they are. Otherwise I do not disagree with you.

QUIET!!!!!!!!

We don't need every swinging dick buying all the short ribs.  They already fucked up the price of almost every other "secret" cut of beef!!!!!

I do the California cut Korean style. I braze them and Sous vide them. It is a very tasty cut of meat.

Agreed.  Cooked them for Thanksgiving this year.

I like the pre-marinated ones from Hmart.

We cook them on our little hotpot grill.

I'm almost worried I shouldn't ask - how much are you paying? They're still $3.99/pound here.

My neighbor gave me some out of his freezer after helping him get his garden tractor unstuck.

I went and bought a new Dutch oven just to be able to cook them properly.

I'm still buying them in mass if they drop back below $5.00. I see tons of places trying to ask $10/pound for them

No arguments here.  I love shot ribs.  No need to put them in all that goo though.  They can stand on their own, just fine.

I tend to do the same whenever they're looking good and available here. I stock up and freeze twenty pounds at a time! They're good for almost any recipe involving beef.

I'm fortunate enough to find them often in the 50% off bin at my regular Safeway. Then I make this, or close enough to this recipe. Thank me later.

Not around here. Avg price is $8-10/lb. Only a few dollars less than strip or rib eye

I can get NY Strips cheaper regularly. I don't get why ribs of any form are so damned expensive.

I made a big pot of them last night actually.

Funny, because I had to cook them on the propane grill, because the wife decided to make Christmas cookies and needed the oven. Lol

The wife and I took a cooking class earlier this year, and we made Instant Pot short ribs.  They were so good I wanted to steal them from the other groups in the room when they weren't looking.  I went home and tried to make them again, and didn't know there are two different cuts of short ribs, flanken and english cut.  We used flanken cut in the class.

I detest short ribs. Every time the wife mentions them I get sick. Greasy, fatty, and hardly any meat at all. I chew a bit and then spit the shit out in my napkin. Boxer loves them but then he likes dirt clods too.

I see short ribs and county ribs in the meat counters here in the VI along with alot of other less common meats.

I like the boston butt steaks as its enough for two without having to deal with a whole one.

Whole bunch of restaurants here have short rib on the menu, stew goat too.

GF is now in the mood for short ribs...off to look for recipes.

Prepping more short ribs for tomorrow's dinner

And anyone who thinks there isn't much meat, you would be shocked when you butterfly one out.
