(NYSE: SHLX) (“SHLX”) today announced they have executed a definitive agreement and plan of merger (the “Merger Agreement,” and the transactions contemplated thereby, collectively, the “Transaction”) pursuant to which Shell USA will acquire all of the common units representing limited partner interests in SHLX held by the public (the “Public Common Units”) at $15.85 per Public Common Unit in cash for a total value of approximately $1.96 billion. A subsidiary of Shell USA currently owns 269,457,304 SHLX common units, or approximately 68.5% of SHLX common units” What will happen to my stocks of SHLX? You'll get $15.85 per share and the ticker will go away. Or, you may get the value of your SHLX shares converted into "x" shares of SHEL. It doesn't say. I don't follow SHEL or SHLX. I have HESM and buy/sell AM. ETA, it's kind of funny to see a major buy back a spin off.  If you get paid, there's other midstreams out there to invest in. I think HESM is a little more solid than AM if you want to hold rather than trade. There's some smaller ones out there that I don't follow. |

Usually they'll say if you get stock in the acquiring company, so my guess is you get a check. That's what happened to me several years ago, and the tender price was lower than my basis.

They will convert your SHLX @$15.85 into an equivalent value of whole shares of SHEL plus a check for the partial share.

Thanks for the replies. Think I’m just going to hold till they buy my shares at 15.85. Plus a 30 cent/share dividend ex date this Monday.
