I never find anything cool.
https://www.foxnews.com/science/stunning-game-of-thrones-sword-discovered-beneath-city-street "Workers digging a sewer in the Danish city of Aalborg have unearthed a remarkably well-preserved sword that dates back to at least the 14th century. Plumber Jannick Vestergaard and engineer Henning Nøhr were stunned to see the 3.7-foot sword, still intact, sticking out of the ground during a sewer excavation on Sunday. The workers from contractor Gunnar Nielsen A/S quickly contacted the Northern Jutland Historical Museum to examine their amazing find. Northern Jutland Historical Museum archaeologist Kenneth Nielsen said that the layer of soil in which the sword was found dates to the 1300s. The sword was discovered on Algade, which is one of Aalborgs oldest streets." |

They should test it out on somebody to, you know, see if it still works.

It's in good shape. Usually they're corroded into barely nothing.

When I was stationed in Germany I lived in a town that was first mentioned in historical documents dating to the 12th century.
While trying to fix the street in front of my driveway, the half drunk German construction crew found human bones and some bronze armor. The fucking German Gov't swooped in and cordoned off my driveway for 8 damn days while they dug up more shit. We couldn't get our car out and neither could our neighbors. Turned out to be some Roman shit from some long forgotten battle that occurred long before there was a town there. Kinda cool but a major pain in my ass. |

I was staying in an Airbnb in Cologne last year and workers were digging up the sidewalk out front.
They were going at it enthusiastically, and didn’t seem concerned about possible UXBs, but there must be thousands laying around. |

It almost has a Yataghan look about it but with a guard. Some sort of muslim/euro hybrid?
I suspect the sword is pictured upside down. |
