I'm just impressed Seattle pd was responding to a situation. Wasn't sure that was an option anymore besides protecting the terrorist supporters when they block intersections

He has a good point about how they did a poor job of identifying themselves. A person in another room wouldn't hear the first announcement, and all they were yelling after that was "Open the door".

Garbage in, garbage out.
Gov gives no funding or strange hiring quotas to the police departments and they churn out warm bodies who will just follow orders or are smart enough only to game the system, not better it. Hire only thugs/goons or completely inept people because the city will take care of the legal bills they rack up because of poor hiring. Oh, wait... we pay the city through taxes so don't worry fam... we got this... Police departments are forced by political trends to give strange rules of engagement for crime: Don't enforce this, enforce this other thing with extreme prejudice. Don't even knock on the door of the folks doing burnouts in the neighborhood to tell them to knock it off, but kick over a kid's lemonade stand because they don't have the right permit. Don't park outside and do surveillance on a common nuisance because there are speeding tickets to write. Scream "police department" and "drop the gun" 50x then only act when they themselves are threatened, not when the suspect is aiming at homes and businesses (I see this shit all the time in Police Activity videos where they just follow some armed fucker standing in the middle of the street for 20 minutes, allowing them essentially free reign). Use exigent circumstances as an end-all, be-all for situations where they fuck up. But, it's all good. We will foot the bills for their stupidity. It's like we get nothing in between: We either get wannabe ghetto gunslingers or Chief Quimby. I'm sure there's good cops... people willing to think outside the box, think before acting, act with intelligence, a true "peace officer" but I've yet to see one... |
