Saw this video and noticed something funny. The gun is a keyhole machine.

5.45x45 has a very high yaw rate. It stabilizes further away from the muzzle. (I believe)

So after 70 years they finally figured out how to put a scope on their MBR?  That side rail thingy that had back in the 1990s wasn't all that good, was it?

Something... Something... 416 is awesome.

That aside... AK-15 is their 7.62x39 variant, right? Dunno why they'd bother making an updated AKM, their staple rifle is the 5.45 AK74 and 74M. If they're using up the old Soviet stockpiles of 7.62 ammo and mags, they might as well just use AKM's.

ETA: After watching, I'd say the grouping you're seeing is rapid fire. I'd expect 3 to 6 MOA accuracy out of the new AK's, depending on the commie behind the trigger.

The side rail thingy was actually introduced in the 1950s as a means to mount night vision devices.
It works fine, but the mount adds weight and you can't fold a side-folding stock with the optic mounted.

Does keyholing happen with new barrels? I had a Stag that did that for the first 3 mags then never again in the next 3k rounds.  I just assumed it was a burr on the muzzle or something

It's only similar to the Kalashnikov rifle in appearance and operating principles. Other than that, it's a completely different gun.

First there was the comment of 5.45x45.....then he said the bullet tumbles out of the barrel, and stabilizes down range....

Why do they keep coming out with “revolutionary” new re-hashes of the same old gun? The real Russian-made AK-47’s and 74’s aren’t that bad for a combat rifle. Just stick with those rifles you already have millions of and save the money for upgrading your important shit.

Assuming that the bullets in the slow mo are behaving normally, even they aren't yawing to the point of near or actually full-side-on impact as the Russian targets show.

That's real fucking dumb sir.

That's called keyholeing and it's not a feature of the rifle. Bullets don't tumble end over end and then magically stabilize.

Don't worry guys, it's a fucking commie gun! Keyholeing and tumbling are features of the guns!

But they rise when they leave the barrel? Like it's because of heat or something right?

Also, didn't you guys hear. Them Russian AKs can use our bullets but ours can't use theirs.
