I’m getting hot spots and some minor blisters wearing cotton socks out of a 12 pack.

What are y’all wearing for running in?

Prince tennis socks. Really any properly fitted, synthetic sock will do wonders. My wife likes Baleaf.

I agree with this. The double lining seems like a gimmick but it is great.

Balega blister proof socks.  I have three pair and have perfect success in every pair of shoes.

On Amazon.

These are great, but I also love Fitsok.

I have Balegas and Feetures, and both have been good but they are very different (maybe the ones I have).

I have some older "Zulu" brand socks as well, and they are good socks too, but have not seen them in stores lately, but I also have not looked lately.

If you want running socks, go to TrakShak.  Feel and compare in person.

Each brand of running sock has different lines for different uses.  You’ll probably like the thinner in Alabama.  Your body will thank you when it has another way to cool down.

I use Darn Tough no shows with the tab on the back to keep them from slipping down into the shoe.  I love them and have never had any blister issues.

Since all of the stores minus Walmart have been closed, I found some cheap synthetic socks at WM.

Russell Athletic “performance” socks. They’re ok, I’m not getting any hot spots while running. They’re so thin that I have a feeling that they’ll have holes in them soon.

There’s a sporting goods store near the school that just opened back up that I’ll swing by today or tomorrow.

This is all I use. Flite XT for running and Maxus for hiking.

So group what am I missing as a runner who has only used cheap Walmart socks?
Never had any issues, am I missing out?

Much more breatheable, no bunching, better heat dissipation, no rubbing, and they just disappear while running.  Also form fitting so there’s no movement between your foot and shoe (slippage leads to injury).

Much more important for distance than for short runs.
