Quoted: Normally that would be a turn off for me too on a striker fired gun but if I buy one of these it'd be strictly a range toy not something I'd ever carry or use for defensive purposes. I have a feeling most people would be in that same camp. Anyone buying one of these to carry or use a nightstand gun View Quote |

I would absolutely buy one.
The most exciting thing to me though is that Im guessing Ruger would be releasing this as a companion handgun to some sort of rifle like FN did. Perhaps a version of their PC carbine. Attached File |

16 round capacity and a craptastic safety? I guess I can hope that this will drive down FNs pricing.

This, just please no manual safety. I hate how most of Ruger’s handguns have manual safeties. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes |

I'd buy one if it had a threaded barrel.
Would work great with my Dead Air Mask. |

Give me a PC Carbine 5.7 Takedown in a Magpul Backpacker stock please.
That with one of these 5.7 pistols... Attached File |

The PS90 is an awesome gun. The FN57 is too but it's even more overpriced than the PS90 for its build quality (and that's saying something).
It is definitely odd but more options in 5.7 can only help availability of the ammo. I hate reloading that stupid cartridge. |

Nidal Hasan killed 13 people and wounded another 31 with an FN five-seven. I don’t think the round is a joke. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

.22 Mag performance at three times the price no thank you. Shooting unarmed people in a confined space is a great metric. eta- Just noticed the account name...figures. |

There are boutique loadings that hit over 2100 fps out of the FN 57. That's putting the bullet in rifle caliber wound territory at pistol ranges. That's quite the upgrade from 9mm hollowpoint cookie cutter rounds.
Now, can we ask CMMG to do the Ruger mag in the radial delayed blowback lower? @PursuitSS |

Well I have no idea why they'd make this but if it works, is priced fairly low, and doesn't cost them a lot to make, they might do well with it.

The magazine capacity makes me think they went with a double-stack, single-feed magazine design, instead of the double-stack, double-feed magazine design that FN uses in their pistol.

Why? Because people keep bitching on gun forums about the limited choices in 5.7. I'm pretty sure Ruger has their ear to the ground on this one.

This + PC Carbine would be incredible. 5.7 PC Carbine would be a great little woods gun...

Yeah, old Mr. "no civilian needs more than 10rds" Ruger himself. Fuck him, fuck his company for fucking gun owners. I hope he & McCain both are roasting together. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes |

I own three Rugers. A bolt gun, a 10/22 and this thing looks a lot like my SR22. I like all three, but I absolutely adore my little SR22. It slice, it dices. I don't own anything in 5.7, but I might soon. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

So the rumor a year or two back about a major gun manufacturer making a 5.7 handgun were not BS. Very nice.

Make it Optic ready and with a threaded barrel I can use my SiCo Sparrow on and I would buy in a heartbeat.

In the short term, I can see this leading to a decrease in 5.7x28 availability.
Long term, hopefully this will lead to an increase in 5.7 availability, and ideally, availability of a 2nd manufacturer for 5.7 brass for reloading. |
