Anyone on here played with Rodin coils?  Just learning about the concept, thinking about trying it and looking for applications...

I'm guessing that you have either made and tested a rodin coil and decided that there's no difference from any other electromagnet..

OR

You googled rodin coil and saw the weird rabbit hole that the rodin coil is involved with.

I have seen three different designs claiming to be rodin coils.  Each of them has different magnetic fields, with different shapes and strengths.  I thought I might try building one and playing with the magnetic field, just for fun.  I bought an arduino board and a bunch of hall effect sensors.  I wanted to make a project to learn programming and physics with my kids.  Thought maybe I could use a rodin coil as the primary or secondary of a tesla coil, or maybe as the toroid?  Maybe there is another application that rodin coils would work, such as speaker magnets or generator coils...

Just get a iron ring and wrap some wire around it.

A straight piece of iron would likely be more interesting sine it has two ends available.

And no I had heard of them long ago.

There have been many claims over the years about electromagnets.
