We used the ole N95. We had them from doing auto body work and they work great for bondo and paint fine sanding dust. Years before the covid BS.

I've always just used a gaiter, got them from the fishing supply before Covid, but now you can find them everywhere.

Another option, and if I was in dust a lot like in the dunes I would go this route, is a pumper system.

Others to look at?

A buddy of mine uses an N95, and says it works like magic.

If you use N95s, get ones with the exhalation valves.

I think you'd have better results with a half-mask respirator though, as far as it staying put and holding up. MSA has some low profile P100 filter cartridges that would be less obtrusive. Draeger also has P100s in a plastic case that are relatively streamlined. I've used both for mowing and other work situations, I mostly use a 3m, they do have a hard shell P100 filter but it's a little bigger than MSA.

On my RZR, and soon to be Speed I use forced air helmets. Way better than dicking around with a dust mask.
