I’m not an owner of bump-stocks but I don’t agree with this. It’s a very slippery slope.

I have never wanted a bump stock. They are not conducive to accuracy. But I agree it is the camels nose under the tent. What next, binary triggers or the thing o the back that bends up?

In a vacuum, I'm really not that offended/threatened by a bump stock ban. Of course, we don't live in a vacuum, and this won't satisfy the anti-firearm caucus.

So this leaves us in a limbo of sorts. It's a compromise (and again, I'm not automatically revolted by compromise) that doesn't secure broader 2A rights. My concern is that this will be billed as meeting folks in the middle, when in reality it's just a concession with nothing in return.

in order for it to be a compromise, both sides give up something in order to gain something in return. I don't see that we are gaining anything. Therefore, this would be a concession, not a compromise. We've been "compromising" our rights away for 80+ years. Enough. I don't want anymore "compromise", I don't want anymore concessions.
