Bleating, blatting, droning things.  Almost made the games unwatchable.
Now the crowds are singing this horrible, monotonous, droning song...over and over and over and over and over.

I suppose I could mute the TV, but then I wouldn't know when something exciting happens.

Not quite right.  The first was in 1978 when Argentina hosted and won the Cup.

The most memorable was in 1994 when I attended all the Orlando matches.

I hope Florida gets to host games in 2026.

On the rare occasions I watch "futbol", I mute the announcers.  If something happens, they'll play it over and over again.

It’s only called “Soccer” in the U.S.

The rest of the World calls it “Faggotball” I think

I thought soccer was stupid until my son started playing. Now I like to watch.

I like to watch my son play the most though, because he makes the other kids on the field look bad

When he wants to, he will just take the ball break the other kids ankles and then just score. He has phenomenal ball control and great field vision.

He passes the soccer ball like Pete Marivich passed the basketball

The Mexico game was like that... The ESP/DEU game was more calm.

But I am glad those fucking horns are not present... that shit was annoying... although back then I didn't watch any of the World Cup. I'm watching some of the current games. I might miss the Brazil game today. I should be able to watch the US vs Iran game tomorrow.

I know why soccer isn't popular in the US:

Not enough stops for fans to get up from the couch to get a beer, make some nachos, have a shit and call their buddies.
Not enough stops for beer commercials
Most 'athletes' couldn't run continually for 45 minutes
Low scores make people think it's not challenging at all

Nobody in the NFL is running continuously for more than 30 seconds before needing oxygen.

Water Polo might be the only sport more cardio demanding than soccer.
