The Mission, The Men, and Me.

Just finished it and it’s one of my top favorites.

Written by a Unit officer. Goes from 80’s to early GWOT.

He was mentioned many times in "Not a Good Day to Die" about Operation Anaconda.

Didn't know he was Unit, thought he was Seal, I may be thinking of someone else though.

A really good book about the Unit is "All Secure".

I’ve had the pleasure of meeting the “All Secure” author. Friend of a close friend. He continues to give back to the community/ country in numerous ways.

You’ll enjoy the Mission/Men/Me..a fantastic read filled with solid considerations for a professional in any industry, especially mil/le. Goes into gruesome detail on early GWOT. Before his retirement. I highlighted half of the damned book

Naylor definitely talked about Blaber with reverence. Well deserved, too.

I think the guy you're talking about is Hyder -- who was given Blaber's reins of TF Blue's SEALs (and eventually the idiot who was unequivocally responsible for Robert's Ridge).

I just finished reading Spearhead by Adam Makos.  It was EXCELLENT.  WWII tank gunner's perspective.  I didn't even know about this famous Cologne tank battle.

I've read several of the books you've read, and some of the others recommended.

I really enjoyed Lions of Kandahar

I just finished Alone at Dawn, which talks about the history of CCT and goes on to recount John Chapman's Medal of Honor award from Operation Anaconda. It's a great book.

Also thoroughly enjoyed Two Wars by Nate Self.

I will likely finished reading None Braver next.

That's a great one.

I also recommend:
No True Glory (worth it alone for what should be mandatory reading of Maj. Douglas Zembiec)
We Were One (US Marine grunts stomping around during Op. Phantom Fury)
Blood Stripes
War, Sebastian Junger
One Million Steps, Bing West (Sangin, Afghanistan)
No Worse Enemy (written while the HBO documentary The Battle For Marjah was being filmed; also discusses Sangin, Afghanistan)
13 Hours
The Way of the Knife (primarily explains why CIA Spooks are usually on the ground before everyone else)
License to Kill (RYP dedicates a volume or two to OIF PMCs)
McCoy's Marines (pieced together from the author/embed's print articles)
Ambush Alley (Mark Bowden-esque rundown of the Battle of Nasiriyah)
Where Men Win Glory (Pat Tillman)
Level Zero Heroes
Hogs in the Shadows

Hunting the Jackal
SOG (JohnPlaster)
Never Surrender
Fearless
The Book of Honor (CIA, not military)
Vice (law enforcement, not military)

Many, many others, but these are the best.

I always thought it would make a  great  movie ala Rorke's Drift/Zulu!.

A Tale of Two Soldiers by Max Gendleman - Unlikely story of a Jewish American PoW who is befriended by a Luftwaffe Lt. who is home and recovering from an injury.  They become chess partners and after developing a friendship, the Lt. proposes that they should escape the war.  The Lt. would get them through German lines at which point the American would get him safely into a PoW camp.
