I have a project that requires some machined high carbon steel "knives" that are not all that critical in hardness.  Anything in the 1075 to 1095 would be adequate.  I can machine all these parts from one 48" long stick of 1/8" x 1.5" bar stock.  So far, I've only found on company in New Jersey that has this in stock.  Due to shipping problems the further away a supplier is, I'd like a source a bit closer if practical.  The local steel suppliers have to order it for me and 12 to 20 foot long sticks are the norm.  I don't need that much.

Also, I would like recommendations on heat treating companies to heat treat the finished "knives".  There will be about 60 of these "knives" that will need a hardness of about 45 to 50 HRC.
