Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Re-enlistment obligation time for prior service?

I've been out for a while, so I'm well out of the IRR.

I know when you initially enlist, the obligation term is 8 years, regardless of how many you do active, reserve, or IRR.

If I sign up again, am I on the hook again for another 8, or just the active enlistment period? I can't seem to find an answer on this anywhere.

No...after 8 year initial service obligation is up, you only owe what you sign up for.
