I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.

OP, do you use the KJV because you have higher confidence in the Masoretic text tradition? Because it's what you grew up with? Or some other reason? I am curious, not trying to start a fight. I use NIV, only because it's the one I'm familiar with from my childhood.

Psalm 73 is the one that's hitting me hard lately. About God being present and just even though the wicked seem to prosper.

I tend to use a few different ones:

KJV since it's the most widely used and tends to be the most correct.

NKJV (New KJV) as it's a little easier to read than the KJV.

Amplified since it will help to clarify things at times.

I'll look at a number of other translations 1560 Geneva, etc.
when I'm really taking a deep dive into a verse or passage.

At times I will go back to the Greek (Parallel Bible) for clarification.

As for the wicked prospering... Are they really prospering? All that they have will not last.
Nothing in this world that we live in is worth anything compared to our Lord's Love for us.

Check out the differences.
Over forty verses are deleted in the NIV. Most of the same ones are deleted in the Jehovah Witness Bible. Hmmmmmm !
