Quoted: We're talking about why amazon sucks not why the closest asian super market is hours away. View Quote Have you ever considered that Amazon just doesn't like you, and that's why your service sucks? Like maybe you gave a Bezos relative some side-eye once and the feud's still going on whether you realize it or not? I get my Amazon shit most rikki-tik - mostly next day or even same day. I'm playing with an arc lighter I ordered on a whim Saturday, right now. Ordered late-night Friday/early AM Saturday and on my doorstep Sunday afternoon. |
I shit you not, it’s not uncommon to order from work and it will be on my doorstep same day, 5 hours later delivered before I get home

Down in Fl, on St Pete Beach, it was generally same day or next day.
Here in E TN, it's about 3-5 days now. The issue that's pissing me off is bait and switch shipping times. I order something because it says in the listing that it'll get here in 3 days and once I check out it changes to 7 days. They also seem to be using USPS more often which generally is an abomination. My mail-person won't deliver anything over maybe 5 or 6 lbs and I have to go pick it up at the post office which is about a 30 mile round trip. |
I've had more screwups, completely wrong items, damaged and late/lost packages in the past few weeks alone than all previous years combined.
It's on my list to call later today but I can't even find a god damn phone number on their site. I'm sick of taking time and driving to return their fuckups. |

Am at my in-laws right now in rural fukistan. Order something for them. Prime is a 1 week delivery. Click it back to my Houston suburb address, 1 day. I still get a decent amount of stuff same day or next day there without paying the upcharge.

Rural Ohio, 30-40 minutes from larger city. Amazon shipping is still fairly quick. UPS, USPS Fedex take awhile. Not sure where the nearest Asian market is, but probably 45 minutes. Normal grocery is 25 minutes.
Retired neighbor gets Amazon deliveries 2-4 times per week, year around. |
I dropped prime shipping a year or two ago
I omly have the video service |
I stopped using Amazon a long time ago.
At this point, while it's hard to use the internet without ever using some Amazon service, there's no way in hell I'll shop using their online store, not when I can get that stuff anywhere else. When they shut down Twitter-competitor Parler, saying the "January 6th insurrection" was planned there, but didn't touch Facebook even though the rallies and protests were organized there... I think it's sad anyone here still buys from Amazon. |
5% back with their card, decent series and movies, and cheap tires. I bought some cooper rugged treks with 15% back during prime week. Shipped free to Alaska too.

Sucks for you. I can order stuff and get it within hours sometimes.
I have made my subscription back just by using the “ship later” option or whatever it is called and getting a $1 or $2 for digital content. |

That is why we are losing. |

Rural here. It’s usually a week wait now on most things. Kinda blows.

We switched to Walmart for a lot of orders. Usually we get it same day or next day and you don't have to pay for a subscription service.
Most stuff for me is 2 days, but a lot is still next day.
My parents can order stuff and get it same day. We all live out in the middle of nowhere. /shrug |
LOL. Wrong! Free shipping is good, I dont go store shopping
I just ordered a bunch of stuff Fri night, arriving today! Good enough for me, sometimes the little items are a little slower if they farm them out to USPS AMAZON MUSIC, PRIME VIDEO, PRIME AUDIO BOOKS I use them all |
I've gotten some shit on the same day. Cutoff is somewhere around 10 or 11 am.
Been pretty satisfied with delivery times over the last year. Only recently have things gone sideways - like in the last few days. Wife did a bunch of Christmas shopping on Amazon last few days - currently five orders show as "running late." Were supposed to be delivered yesterday. |

View Quote In SoCal I got same day or next day delivery. Here in the Upper Peninsula it's 5-10 days normal. My mail person won't deliver anything that won't fit in the mail box. But it beats the two hour round trip to the "city" (6000 people) for shopping. |

I'm good at my house and at my shop. Some items are same day, others are next day, most are two day.

Quoted: its the only place u can get weird asian cooking ingredients in bumfuck ruralistan. View Quote Here's a trick: Put the stuff you might possibly need on your wish list. Make your wish list threshold very low. I am pretty sure they move stuff around to fill gaps in trucks to put stuff you MIGHT order close by. Then when you actually need it, it comes faster. Or just stock up on things as you learn about them. Ruralfuck Bumbistan is more likely to get cut off in SHTF anyway so you better have stuff on hand. |
Lol. Amazon center 3 miles away. I get 4 hours on some stuff.
The biggest problem lately is that orders ship only to get lost in the system a day or so later. I have some that they lost from early November that they still haven't processed the refund on yet.

What the heck has been up with Amazon the last month or so?
Wrong items, 2 day shipping went to like a week |
Used to be 2-3 days guaranteed. Now it's a week. Shipping time have risen, as has the cost of membership.
I've been thinking long and hard about dumping Amazon as well. |
We dumped Prime over a year ago. Orders arrive in mostly the same time frame.
I ordered a game for my wife from them on Friday, and USPS delivered it on freakin Sunday.
Few other things ordered are scheduled today and tomorrow. Kind of a crapshoot anymore. |
Seems you also were able to get better deals on products and I realize inflation and all but I have found things much cheaper at local stores or other online places. So, Amazon sucks.
I canceled my auto subscription. Wednesday is about the cutoff to get it by Friday or it goes to Monday.
Used to have Amazon trucks now it's back to UPS. The countdown timer you have to get by a certain date is now complete bullshit. Used to be down to the minute. Lately it may say I have 7 hours to get an item by a certain day. I figure I will think about it and check out later on in a few hours. Now it arrives the day after what was listed before and I know the timer said 7 hrs and it was only a couple hours later. |
