I should report that I got my pi hole up and running, I think. In less than 36 hours (more like 24 hours) Amaz alex have tried to ping:

api.amazonalexa.com
2167 5048 times.

device-metrics-us-2.amazon.com
267 615 times

device-metrics-us.amazon.com
89times

mads.amazon-adsystem.com
61 times

ETA1: What in the hell is api . amazon. com? I found this article but I do not understand what it means.

You know what Amazon Alexa is, right?

An API is in essence a method for allowing one piece of software to control another piece of software.

In this particular case, one piece of software is attempting to control some function or feature that is used by Amazon Alexa for a particular user account.

Does that make any more sense?

Yes and I am happy to block this shit. I did not agree to the purchase of those PII harvesting devices.

Do you have an Alexa in your home?

What about some other smart device that might be using or based on Alexa services?

Try unplugging devices (cut their power) and see if the pings to the Alexa api go away?
