Who's on your local scene? Singed or un signed. Unknown or world famous? I have lived in two areas so will post from those two. Will start with a hidden Gem prog metal band called Psychotic Waltz. They hail from the same town as Iron Butterfly. El Cajon CA.

Back in the late sixties and early 70's we had some great bands here in the Rochester area. The Showstoppers, Wilmer Alexander and the Dukes. Also Lou Gramm and Joe English came from here too.
Now them was the days! |

Definitely in the vein of John Butcher but i think he was a more creative player. Not famous...
Local band Fraggo . Named after the two boys Johnny and Jacob. Who do their own music and covers. There own music "originals" is OK, but they really shine at Covers and are always a good time. The wife, myself and anywhere from 4-6 other couples we know frequently go see them play at local spots. We get pretty loud and have a great time!!!! The band is super cool, just about every show they come and talk to us and other fans they recognize. I've actually booked them to play at our house about 3 times now when we had a big shindig planned. They come setup, Amps, lights, drums, speakers, equipment, etc and put on a show, just like at a venue. Our guests have always came away talking about it and saying it was a great time. This last one, was a surprise 50th 80s/90s theme party for my wife. I txted them and asked if they could play the party. He asked if we could reschedule to another day. I said I would, but its a surprise party for April's 50th and I have people coming in from Co, NC and SC. He said, let me get back too you.... Figured I'd never hear from them. The next day, he txt me back and says they really wanted to do it for April and were able to reschedule a gig they had at a local venue, so its on!!!! They came out and played their asses off for us, everyone had a great time!!! I look forward to doing it again. |
