Any brand or source better than another?  I seem to have to replace the lifts on my truck topper every couple years.  It got down to 5 degrees last week and both of the struts failed the same day.

I use amazon and buy cheap and  repeat every couple of years. No matter what I buy the only last 2-3 years and are easy to replace

I've ordered the last couple sets on line from an automotive supply shop, I was wondering if I was getting junk struts or if that's just the way it is.

Seems like my old ford expedition had factory originals for 15 years, but these light duty struts for my truck cap are lucky to make 2 years.
