For several years I've been using vintage Gillette or Schick double edge safety razors for shaving.  Today, I decided to try one of several Gem single edge razors I had bought as part of my collection.  I had avoided using them as I figured they would tear up my face.

Well, I was pleasantly surprised.  Decent shave.  No cuts or nicks.  I may have to add these to my razor rotation.

That is hardcore, a utility knife razor blade?

I would think that would really cut your face up bad.

I don't know there are better quality blades available for a Gem.  I figured I would try this razor at least once.  It wasn't bad but probably not something I'll do on a regular basis.

My Gillette Super Speed with a Feather blade is a nicer shave.
