Pretty cool tour.

How long until you eat up that gallon

I'm not sure hah. I'll guess 8 months to a year. Maybe sooner if I take some to work.
Never heard of FIFO? Why would you buy a gallon of sauce that has a best by date of what looks like 11/2018?

Tabasco is king and in its own world of condiments. I dont consider it a hot sauce, more like a vinegar/salt condiment. Goes on everything

Neat. The inside look at their bottling lines (automation) is what would interest me the most. I've seen quite a few bottling & processing lines and enjoy watching them operate...

Tabasco feels the same way and calls their product a pepper sauce.

I love the taste of tabasco but it fucks my stomach up to the point I stay clear of it.

I can eat Carolina Reaper, habenero, ghost peppers, etc. and be fine but a few dashes of tabasco on my food and I'm on the toilet all day.

I'm guessing you haven't had many sauces. I had the pleasure of living near a store that stocked a ton of different brands and I tried a LOT of them.

The majority are crap.

Tabasco is good. It's the only sauce I always keep on hand (original and jalapeno).

I did the tour about a year ago. They really do a good job to give insight into the history of the product. I was kind of surprised they still age in oak barrels as I figured they had switched to stainless tanks years ago.

No, the basic Tabasco isn’t my favorite but it’s still well worth the time to tour the plant.

Tabasco has said over time it may separate, but that's okay.

Also the deep red color may change to orangeish/brownish

True, I have seen it seperate. all you have to do is shake it up hah.

A couple years ago I bought an MRE at a surplus shop and the little bottle of Tabasco had dried to a blood colored crusty substance. I looked up the date code and it was from 2003 LOL.

I did a survey of the factory many years ago for a security firm.  In one of the main buildings, they were building a new wooden framed building inside the metal building.  The salt and vinegar was corroding the metal building after only 20 years, so they were going back to wood, which lasted almost 100 years in the original factory.  Also, saw my first Big Ass fan there.  I was looking at the blueprints, and in the middle of the room was a diagram that said Big Ass fan.  I kind of giggled, and they told me to come with them.  We went into the room and there was the biggest ceiling fan I had ever seen.  It was more than 20' across.  In the center, there was a decal with a horse (ass?), and it said Big Ass Fan.

Chances are, I probably made major parts for that machine that is labeled Pneumatic Scale.

They are a North East Ohio company and a major customer of mine.

I've heard people say this before. Frank's is trash.

It's chicken wing sauce and not that great on much else. If you want wing sauce, Texas Pete's is better anyway.

For hot sauce, Tabasco is decent in a bloody Mary, but El Yucateca is the best. Black label is next level.

It’s not my favorite of hot sauces but I always have a bottle in the cabinet. It has its place in some dishes. I really want to like Sriracha as it does taste good but I can’t get over the fact that it smells like Sasquatch cock.

I went there a year ago and it was a very nice trip. We also did tour the jungle gardens tour and ate at the 1868 restaurant. The Tabasco ice cream at 1868 was very good, not on the menu but they had some in the back. They also have different flavors in the gift shop.

I was on a cruise last year, doing the breakfast buffet. Got my plate loaded with scrambled eggs and hash, not gonna lie, I was pretty hungover. Decided some Tobasco on that food would help clear my head. Grabbed a bottle, didn’t look too close, and slathered it on. Turned out it was Tobasco Habenaro sauce. Cured my hangover, but it was an eye opener lol.
