Peterson, 55, was widely criticized for his actions and Broward Sheriff Scott Israel opened an internal investigation. The deputy resigned and retired on Feb. 23, "rather than face possible termination." Peterson, the Sun-Sentinel reported, has received a monthly state pension of $8,702.35 since April. He was paid $101,879.03 last year, according to the news outlet, which cited sheriff's office records. |

Heaven forbid he risk that 8k a month to become an absolute fucking hero, saving how many kids' lives...Nah, forget that. Sure bet is to stay outside, where it is safe and the wolves aren't attacking.
He could get 100k every month for the rest of his life and still never have enough money to make his cowardice go away. |

Damn.
Here I thought they got low pay in order to get guys who were more about the job, rather than the pay . Oh well. |

He's only 55? Bet he can start a second government career and score pension #2 in a few more years.

Ha...i have two friends that worked for Fairfax County PD; they are both retired in late 40's and collect 75% of a VERY large final salary. Nothing as good as retiring at 48 with a 6 figure pension for life. But i love it when they say Govt workers are "underpaid". lolz
$8700 a month....pfff. rookie. |
|
That dude should've been straight up fired. WTF did they let him quit!?

I don't know if it still is, but it used to be that a sworn officer in Florida could retire on a full pension after 23 years. The pension was based on the average of the top five years salary. So you would skate your first 18 years, bang out tons of overtime your last five (when you're topped out) and your pension would be based on those last five. You could then turn around and reapply, get re-hired, start all over as a first-year deputy, and start toward your second pension, while collecting your first pension.
|

This guy has his own reasons for why he shouldn’t get this, but besides him, nobody should get taxpayer funded pensions like this. This is why we’re fucking broke! Save your money and invest like the non government workers. Sick of this shit.

Given there is no enforceable "duty" for cop to intervene in a mass shooting, there needs to be a bounty on mass shooters that would be even better money than the pension.
Actuarially, that would likely have to be in single digit multi-millions of dollars to equal a 9K a month for life pension, and that would not include the health or dental coverage. |
|
I wouldn't have guessed that he made over $15 an hour and he wasn't even worth that.
|
|
That's obscene. Compared to what Veterans get after actually GOING in harms' way?
Shit, working in the private sector, I'd have to work till I'm almost 75 to get that much out of my own fucking 401k! That I paid into! And I would probably have run into that school without being deputized, as would many here. Piece of shit. |

He's the gun grabbers dream come true.
The assault rifle so deadly so dangerous so fearful that no sane man could muster the courage to face one. Good to have in the hands of our military to scare our enemies to death But far too deadly for ordinary citizens to own far too deadly to fall into the hands of evil men....or men who were once good but suddenly turn evil... |

Jesus fuck, that is outrageous.
And taxpayers are on the hook for it. |

Don't forget the cops guarding his house (I'm not sure if they still are) but that's full salary and benefits for when they do it.
And remember the Sheriff hired him and the other cops. The Sheriff is responsible for the hiring practices and policies. |

I don't know how he can live on that tiny pension. I feel fortunate.

Wonder how much longer this gov pension system is going to survive. It certainly can't go on forever.

I don't care if he's the Matt Dillon of Broward County, no public employee should draw that kind of pension, let alone starting at 55.

Not a bad deal for being a DeepState puppet.
Who wants to place bets he dies in a car accident in the next few months? |
|
Good for him. Maybe a defamation suit against the sheriff is possible once it’s determined it was bad training and retard butch capt who caused the problem, not him.
