Thought I would share this, since I've been using it a lot for designing 3D-printed parts and only discovered it by chance after some extensive searching.
Membership in the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) comes with a totally unadvertised benefit: a free license for Solidworks Education Premium(for personal use only). Membership in the EAA is $40 annually. If you're a vet or currently serving .mil you can get a license for $20 a year through their military program.
