Thought I would share this, since I've been using it a lot for designing 3D-printed parts and only discovered it by chance after some extensive searching.

Membership in the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) comes with a totally unadvertised benefit: a free license for Solidworks Education Premium(for personal use only).  Membership in the EAA is $40 annually.

My response on learning this?

Does the educational version still put an unremovable label on anything file edited in it?

If you're a vet or currently serving .mil you can get a license for $20 a year through their military program.

Solidworks files that have been edited with the educational version get permanently flagged as such.  Only .dwg files actually get a watermark put on them, although it isn't obtrusive and machine shops don't care.  STL, IGS, STEP, and other basic interchange files don't get flagged or marked in any way.

As if I didn’t spend enough time every day staring at SW.

Wow. Is this legit?

Appears so.... https://www.eaa.org/eaa/eaa-membership/eaa-member-benefits/builder-resources

I run SW at work and find it way more user friendly than fusion.
