High speed tactiool from the early 2000's, it got a lot of press as being awesome. It was mostly just a last minute stop-gap to get some DMR rifles out there because Afghanistan isn't the Fulda Gap or whatever.

A stop gap that lasted 20 years?

With all the money they dumped into GWOT you'd think they'd come up with something better if it was as bad as GD says.

Or whatever

I had the same setup about 10-12 years back.

It was nice but ergonomics were off. Sold it and went with a LaRue OBR 7.62 with Nightforce optic, eventually moved to a Vortex Razor.

Happy with my decision...!

M14s biggest drawback is that it wasn't heavy enough.

Mid grade?  No need to get crazy with the spending. A DPMS LR308 would have done everything better and cost less than the Sage stock.

It’s heavy as fuck. But shoots nicely.

I chose the Troy MCS chassis instead of the sage.

The chassis is pretty drop in as I recall, with no permanent changes for at least a run of the mill civilian M1A. It took 10 minutes or so to swap.

Of course, I haven't owned mine for at least 10 years, wish I could change my name.

The CSASS HK offering is supposed to be pretty neat.

I knew a guy who hated the the SR-25 due to its overall length, but tolerated his M-21 (which he also hated due to weight).
