A handcuffed woman tried to bite an officer so he punched her to much outrage in the press and a long thread here about how cops who work in "vibrant areas" are fools. The suburb is actually nearly all white although the Wal mart attracts black customers.

Anyway the chief backed the officer up and said the officer's use of force was justified and that the way he struck her was appropriate although I guess he got some retraining. The Chief also admitted that they should have probably sent more than two officers initially. More officers showed up later but the two guys who got there first had a lot in their plates with the combatants and hostile onlookers. But they did good wrestling the two women while intimidating some hostile onlookers into keeping their distance until help arrived

Imagine a world were police officers' unions secure counsel and start bringing claims against these folks. Granted, they have no money, but they get dragged into years of civil litigation, get sanctions and held in contempt for discovery violations, etc. I for one would find it entertaining.
