I suck

I hooked the opener to DOOR 2 on the OHD Anywhere unit and can control the door from the buttons on the unit but in the app I don't see how to add the door.

It wants me to do all this crap like it's a new door but it's not.

I just want to control the relay from the app.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!

How old is the GDO? Is the interface between OHD wired or wireless?

The house I recently bought had GDOs from the early 90’s, and only one remote. When I went to buy replacement remotes, I learned they are no longer sold - i.e. obsolete technology. If the interface is wireless, this could be your problem.

ETA: nvm, sounds app related.

Older unit is most likely from when house was built.

I recall seeing an old ass controller in the house and figure that it had all been replaced and I didn't need it. Threw it away.

When I finally got into working in garage looked over at single door side and noticed old unit.

Pretty sure these house, built in the late 80's, did not have an opener on the single door. Guessing they moved the double door unit to single side.

Reading up some more it sounds like since it's old and it doesn't have the obstruction sensors it will not work.

ARG!

Looks like I'll have to buy an add on unit w/ new controllers.

Seems easy enough I guess.

FWIW, my new units (Genie) were under $200 each and came with everything needed for installation.

ETA: This was in the past 3 mos.

My genie garage doors are from the early 70s. I had to add the genie unit that is a receiver and a fob to both doors over time. The last one the wifes Subaru homelike wouldn't connect to it. The mazdas she had always worked.
