Lives, money, equipment, good faith from the world,
They're treating it as if nothing matters but Putin's
ego.  Agree, such a fucking waste.

Maybe but how? Hungary has the military of the Delaware National Guard. Certainly Russia wont conquer any territory to "gift" over to Hungary.

The concept of Greater Hungary is a nostalgic story of the old days. Basically, like some Native American tribe showing pictures or maps of their ancestors' territory. Hungary is no more likely to retake W. Ukraine than the Seminole tribe is taking Orlando.

It's nostalgia. Like when I look back at the America I knew in the 80's and 90's. Although very few people alive can remember "Greater Hungary" from pre WWI.

Personal story. My dad was born in Hungary during WWII. After the war, our home town was given to Romania by Stalin. Everyone's passports were collected and Romanian papers were re-issued. Everyone had to learn Romanian (and Russian).Towns and streets were re-named. Many Hungarians fled to Hungary while many Romanians were moved in. In some places and settings, it is STILL inadvisable to speak Hungarian there. But I have zero animosity towards Romania or Romanians. In fact I consider them almost like kin.  No one alive made the discissions to change the borders.

As far as safety in Hungary...you may be a victim of a gypsy pickpocket but you will not be physically harmed or shot in a drive-by like in most US cities.

Yeah. But russia is slowly but surely and deliberately moving forward as they simply pour in more and more and more people. They have a plan of taking Bakhmut before they run out of disposable people. It seems like himars need to be moved into this area.

What matters is how many are not dead and how many more are coming.

Russia Planned To Attack Japan in 2021: Leaked FSB Letters

The FSB agent suggested that Russia instead chose to invade Ukraine months later.

"Confidence that the countries would enter the stage of acute confrontation and even war was high. Why Ukraine was chosen for war in the end [the scenario was not changed much] is for others to answer," they wrote.

The whistleblower detailed movements of electronic warfare helicopters targeting Japan, while Russia's propaganda machine was also initiated, with a huge push to label Japanese as "Nazis" and "fascists."

Kuril Islands

A peace treaty formally ending World War II has never been signed by Russia and Japan, largely because of disputes over a group of islands claimed by Japan, but occupied by Russia.

The Kunashiri, Etorofu, Shikotan and Habomai islands of the Kuril Island chain were seized by the USSR at the end of World War II. Tokyo claims the islands as its "Northern Territories" and the issue has strained relations between Russia and Japan for decades.

According to the FSB agent, a "key stumbling block" between Moscow and Tokyo is the Kuril Islands.

Because of their location between the large Japanese island of Hokkaido and Russia's Kamchatka Peninsula, the islands offer a number of military and political benefits.

That would have been a huge mistake. Japan would have pushed their shit in.

Other countries would have come to Japans aid. It would have been an epic ass kicking.

"Nazis" are a non sequiter as it's demonstrable no white supremacist party has any control in Ukraine's government and they've largely long been rooted out of their professional military. It's also been demonstrated on multiple occasions that the Russian definition of "Nazi" is quite divergent from the Western accepted definition and rather just a convenient scapegoat for Russia.

Intelligent people recognize what they are. The low information use it as a thread to weave a grand conspiracy, the root of which can be traced back to the Russian government (and Russian Communist Party as well).

It matters because it goes towards character of Ukrainian leadership and Russian efforts to discredit and undermine it. This is another line of argument that when people making it are pressed the best they can offer are pictures of Zelensky in his previous job during acts, the same of which many, many other "normal" actors/comedians have done.

Conflating Ukrainian culture with Middle East culture is a mistake for many obvious reasons. Maybe it's happening, maybe not. Regardless, if it is, it is so inconsequential as to be another point devoid of any evidence. In fact, when MTG demands an audit, I'm personally all for it because I'm confident enough it will make her look like the idiot she is.

Are there kickbacks to US politicians occurring in this? Almost certainly as there is with any US government transaction. That's not how the claim goes, however. The claim is that the kickback scheme is is so vast that it is nearly the sole deciding factor in American support for Ukraine. It is often disingenuously made by conflating the value of hardware sent with literal dollars sent. Still yet another point never backed up with evidence to support the claim.

Probably but considering a nation is using that gear to ensure it's survival, it's a safe bet that's low likelihood. The one independent investigation done into it showed it wasn't happening and was yet another seed of doubt sown by the Russian government to undermine Western support for Ukraine.

A thief will always come up with justification for their thievery.

I hope that clarifies why I posted what I did.

Well-thought-out post with good points.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.

Strafing runs with the mini-gun and rockets/bombs as needed. Fly it just over the tree tops, striking troops and light vehicles as needed. Hellfires for harder targets.

Build it as cheaply as possible, consider it disposable. Perhaps a .50 BMG mini-gun (the current three barrel version) could be an option.

As far as I'm tracking the only hellfire's Ukraine's gotten is 160 from Norway very recently. We aren't sending them.

Explain where these A-37s are going to come from and why you think they can be converted to drones cheaply.

Sounds dumb.  If they already occupy the islands, why start a war over it?  Besides that, I think Japan's Air Force and Navy would really humiliate the Russians.  Of course, the Russians probably didn't know that then.  They certainly do now.

The EU can be a guarantee of that but borders moving around again is never happening.

But do on and listen to the shit needs on it.

In all fairness, if you don't start history in 1918, Hungary was a pretty big asshole to all its minorities prior to WW1.  Ironically, Hungarian parochialism was probably the second largest factor in Austria-Hungary's humiliation during WW1, if Hungary had fully supported the war effort they might not have lost so completely.
