Well, better get this rolling, even if it's 12 hours early and I'm currently waiting for my breakfast in a Cracker Barrel in Massachusetts.

Otherwise I'll forget and the ensuing panic will rival Orson Welles' War of the World's broadcast.

Alright, maybe not.

But, in keeping with the UFO theme, let's go with a Nye County open. Have fun tonight. I'll probably be reading along even though I'll miss the actual show.

Is this a current picture? A/C's still out?

I learned my lesson last year, I have an extra capacitor, extra blower motor and a blower capacitor. Might seem to be overkill but I had all three go tits up at different times, all on weekends and holidays. My A/C guy lives around the corner and will come out anytime. Parts are a different issue. I think all the parts were less then $150.

The wire could have arced from corrosion. Im assuming that it's humid in TX, The rust on the capacitor and the corrosion of the copper will cause higher resistance and heat to build up in the wire and connecter.

It works now. The wire burnt so I put a new end on it.

Probably, I will go to the A/C shop next door to work and get a new one then coat it in trucklite compound.

Last time I changed the capacitor in my AC compressor unit I sprayed the shit outta it with plasti-dip spray paint. Sealed up the terminals really well.

Water will weep up into exposed copper. I would not be surprised if half the wire is toast. I would just patch in a 14ga
Finestrand wire and shrikwrap the terminal over the wire jacket. Then once it is all back together spray the contacts down with some of this stuff. It works great.
