I currently drink bourbon exclusively . I drink expensive bourbon when I can.
Pappys , whistlepig , on occasion , Blantons ,woodfords regularly.
I have had very few occasions to drink good scotch .  I have tried it it on occasions , please tell me what I should start with.

Just a note.... I have drank a bit of old foresters 1920 this evening.  So judge as you will.
Old forester is the best value in bourbon that I have found.  Quality vs cost.

Grand Old Parr.  Seriously, for a guy coming from bourbon and trying it out, I think its a safe bet.

Its a great one to start with. Even later its still great.

Also Cragganmore is a great start too

If any one here is a bourbon guy it’s me. But why limit it to one thing. Scotch is amazing. Any of the ones listed above are fantastic(the ones I have had from experience, the others by reputation).

The one thing I would say though is you either like peat or you don’t. So familiarize yourself with Islay scotches before you dive too deep down that road.

My man!

Really, you like scotch. The youngest, harshest whiskeys have the most flavor of the style and less of the blending and the barrel.

One of my dogs is named Isla (y) my dads side of the family is from the Isle of Islay yet I just haven’t developed the pallet for the Islay Scotch. I working on it.   I do have a bottle of the Laphroig 10 that I’ve been sipping.  I started buying Scotch vs Bourbon about a year ago and have leaned towards the Sherri bombs.
I bought some Highland Park which seems like a much better way to sample the peat vs me buying the Laphroig 10.

Seriously question. Did you instantly like the heavy peat or was it a acquired deal?
