And in today's "elections have consequences" news...
Gov. Newsom abolishes most single-family zoning in California In one of his first actions after surviving an election seeking to oust him from office, Gov. Gavin Newsom on Thursday essentially abolished single-family zoning in California — and green-lighted a series of bills intended to bolster the state’s housing production.
By signing Senate Bill 9 into law, Newsom opened the door for the development of up to four residential units on single-family lots across California. The move follows a growing push by local governments to allow multi-family dwellings in more residential neighborhoods. Berkeley voted to eliminate single-family zoning by Dec. 2022, and San Jose is set to consider the issue next month. While opponents fear such a sweeping change will destroy the character of residential neighborhoods, supporters hail it as a necessary way to combat the state’s persistent housing crisis and correct city zoning laws that have contributed to racial segregation. ... |

That's one way to lower the prices of homes people in California complain about
|

This doesn't affect those mega mansions that are flooding California, built by and for uber wealthy left wing rich fucks, right?
|
|
He just destroyed the real estate market and value of land and homes.

Rule 2 in real estate-Highest and Best use of land.
This will drive prices of single units higher as the value of the land just increased, buyers will buy undervalued land and destroy anything on it to developed 4. Another wave of californians are going to flood the free states driving single unit pricing up more. Its going to suck for those that stay. |

And New Mexico, Arizona, and Texas just moved further into being called "Californistan."

A nice Section 8 quad next to his personal home would hit the spot.

What are all those house flippers going to do now? HGTV will be off air in a month.
California is and should be classified as a rouge state conquered by hostile Socialist domestic terrorists and must be invaded and retaken! Unfortunately this is the master plan long in the making by the Usurper Biden’s masters. |

I’d say elections have consequences, but I think the Dem fraud machine is strong in CA. Likely, more than half the state’s population is being dragged by the communists.

Somebody should start a charity that takes donations to buy lots in mega-$ neighborhoods and turns them into section 8 housing.

These bills have been on his desk for a while. He waited until after the recall results to sign them.

For anyone in California that ownes a Single family residence (SFR) that is great news.
Now that SFRs are going to be even more limited, the home prices will go up even more. |
|
If you continue to live in California, you deserve everything that's coming to you. |

Sweet, now the lot that you could build one 1200 sf 800k house on, you can build 4 600 sf apts. The rental income will be awesome.
When the neighbors next door dont like it, you buy their place 2 and do another. Soon you will have whole streets of small over priced apts. |

What are all these new multi-family dwellings going to use for water?

It’s almost like those retards stop and ask themselves, “selves, is this REALLY a good idea? I mean would a logical, intelligent person do this?” No? “Let’s fucking do it”

I literally wouldn't piss on California to put it out if it were on fire...

This will make the value of single family homes that are convertible to multiplexes go up, and the former owners will take their shiny new equity and move and make the value of homes in other areas go up.
It will make it harder and harder for young professionals and young couples to buy their first single family home. And will certainly spill over into other states as some former owners leave commiefornia. |

This is the kind of thing that could have changed the outcome of the recall...

I'm 3/4 of the way through reading Animal Farm right now. Holy crap, we're seeing this unfold in real time.
Napoleon Newsom and his band of pigs. |

It is kind of what you would expect the BlM/Antifa/college anrchist and their useful idiot backers to do. But they won’t. This just means that every upper middle class and lower neighborhood is going to get their very own housing projects. |

The price of Californian single family homes just inflated in a quantum jump.

I spent most of my life thinking having more property rights was a conservative value. Is it only conservative if its the opposite of Newsome would do?

Make it lower cost for POC and "Tolerant Liberals" (as per Liberal Logic), and maybe folks will leave those draconian intolerant red states for Californian freedom.

Quoted: I wonder if he’ll get rid of parking requirements too. View Quote Local zoning has done that in many places. I see it by me all the time. Most apartment complexes also turn a blind eye to occupancy limits too. Not super uncommon to have 4+ adults in a 2 bedroom apartment. Of course each one has a car. Most apartments have one assigned spot and one first come, first served guest pass. Complex down the street from me has cars street parked in 1/2 mile in every direction at night. |
