I get ford x plan pricing, and supplier pricing with GM and Chrysler products. How much does this usually bring the price down? Is it worth using the discount or can you negotiate better on your own?

My experience is that it brought the price down a few thousand but after that there was no negotiation.

This was Ford Z plan.

Thanks for the info. A few thousand plus all the discounts would be helpful

sorry, but in spite of what you may believe, you're probably not going to "get ALL the discounts".

Good luck.

How much is the car you want?   2k off 75k is nothing.   I just ordered a 2021 f250 Lariat diesel and got the cash back plus 6% discount off the MSRP.   When the truck is ordered the cash back is locked.   When the truck is delivered, I'm entitled to any factory incentives that apply to my purchase.

They never even asked me how I was paying so cash or financing made no difference to them.   I'm paying cash no trade in.

One dealer got close to 6% and they all said no to anything over 6%.

Granted. That’s why this is confusing when I look up a car on autotrader or cars. Com and the price is 8k lower than msrp with a page full of “discounts”.

30k. I have a list of 5 im looking at, just haven’t had enough time to go check them out in person. Top of the list is a 2021 Chevrolet Colorado WT 4wd with the v6.

I JUST noticed you're looking at Chevy.   The Chevy dealer offered me 9.83% off plus incentives for a 2500 HD but I'm going Ford

I've used x plan twice.  They have a set markup when applied.  Some fees they can't charge you for. Plus did get any cash, etc incentives applied that were offered to everyone at the time.

XPlan is typically about $100 above invoice and $100 doc fee

Truecar.com does a very good job of showing what your should really pay for new vehicles.

Those sort of discount plans are a decent way to avoid games with sales people, but it’s not unusual for advertised/negotiated prices on certain models to be a better deal.
