So..... stake it then?
Unless you want a vampire girlfriend, then don't stake it. |
|
Young Manufacturing doesn't stake at all, and tells you exactly why they don't.
|
|
|
That's nice that they made it easy for you to disassemble and inspect upon arrival.

Brownells sells a staking tool. HERE
|

WTF, I'm going to have to inspect my bolts now, just to make sure.
I didn't know this was a thing. |

Send that thing back. They are probably busy so post in their industry forum and tag them.
And staking matters Young manufacturing is full of shit. |

I'd bitch and get some mags. Keep them, they may not have a replacement for you. This is a toolcraft issue, not psa correct? |

I still have a Bushmaster BCG from the late ‘90s that was “improperly” staked and is still good after thousands of rounds.
OP, if it concerns you, just stake it yourself. Easy job with a $7 spring-loaded punch. |
|
With everything being rushed right now, expect QC issues on almost everything.
ETA I ordered 10 PSA Nitrided ones when they were $59 back in June. All staking is way better than that. Waiting till they hit $200 and dump them |

Throw it down the drive way then soak in olive oil.
Should be ready to go after that. |

I’d say it’s a Toolcraft issue but someone at PSA should have at least looked at the damn thing before throwing it in the box considering they had 9 days to check it. I was planning another order for some stuff tonight. So much for that now. |

Maybe I'm wrong but feel TC has been a bit overrated since day 1 really. They were hot out the gate cause they were $75. I've had 3 of em, one was out of spec, bad. Other 2 GTG though. Never owned another cheap BCG since.

That's like expecting Walmart to inspect every piece of merchandise before they sell it. Well... was this a standalone purchase or a complete upper? If it was just purchased as a bare bcg then I'd have zero expectation that PSA is running a QC check on Toolcrafts staking. |

It's a good excuse go buy a MOACKS. I did for a poorly machined AAC gas key that I had to replace and don't regret it. |
