John Conroe who's writing the excellent "Demon Accords" series has started a new series that looks excellent.

"Zone War" is about a near future where a terrorist group has released 25,000 autonomous killer drones on New York City.
Hundreds of thousands were killed and now the city is an abandoned ghost city that's suicide to enter.

The only people allowed in are recovery specialists who either rush through in heavily armored vehicles and grab whatever valuables they can get, or who are hired to recover valuable art work or legal documents.
The best of these are part of a reality TV series that follows and films the recovery teams while they try to find valuables, avoid the drones...... and all too often, die trying.

The best of them all is Ajaya Gurung who slips alone through the wrecked city to find valuables people want.
His father was a former Gurkha SAS sniper who trained Ajaya to shoot and ghost through the most dangerous place on earth.
He's the most experienced of all of them and has far outlived anyone else.
Now the drones seem to be changing tactics.
