Looking for a new truck for work.  Need a full size 4wd, small lift for clearance, good off road capabilities, need to tow but not super heavy, figure 10k and under.

Have heard both good and bad about both vehicles but would like to hear from someone who owns one.

10k load is pushing it for a tundra.

Max Towing is 10k for the Tremor and 11,175 for the Tundra. At least Google before you post.

I'd probably jump up to 3/4 or one ton if you're going to be towing 10K on a regular basis.

The 2023 Ford Super Duty F-350 equipped with the Tremor Off-Road package and a Power Stroke high-output diesel engine can tow up to 23,000 pounds. Don’t see where OP specified Ranger or F350. Lots of Tremor packages available

You think OP is trying to decide between an $100,000 F-350 and a $45,000 Tundra?

What payload capacity do you need in a truck when fully loaded, cargo and trailer?  Without knowing that, it’s hard to say what truck is the right one.

I'd give Toyota another year or two to iron out their 3.5l TT.

This is worth consideration if you're towing a lot.

Sure the 1/2 ton will easily pull and stop a well equipped trailer.  A 3/4 ton will do it better.  Especially if you're in mixed terrain.

I would step up to a F-25O tremor. Maybe the .350.

My F150 is rated 11K but no way I would want to tow 10K unless it was local.
If that what you're doing OP get a 3/4.

Sorry, going back reading the Benadryl induced shit post I made I can see the confusion.

Looking at the F-150 Tremor only.  Budget is 70K OTD for either Tundra or F-150.

The towing will be a trailer with two side by sides on it along with equipment, probably 2-3 times a month so not a lot of towing.

The Tundra I was looking at was the Limited CrewMax with 6.5’ bed, TRD Off road package along with TRD lift and 33” tires.

The Ford is a F-150 Tremor edition so almost all of the same options as the Tundra.  Not sure yet about which engine in the Ford yet.

ETA: looking at the Polaris website at the side by sides, looks like each one weighs in at about 2500 lbs each so figure 6K total weight for towing

Still at least 90% of the rating for a truck with no passengers or anything else inside, and that's before you reduce the payload capacity for the extra packages he's talking about adding on.  Realistically, with even one passenger, he'd be over payload rating towing 10k.

You can get a nice 250 Tremor in your budget, easy

If I was doing half ton stuff? I’d get the Tundra (Pro for me).

But if I’m towing what you’re planning? 250 Tremor

I’d love the F-250 but unfortunately it’s not an option.

The TRD Pro is a nice truck too but will out of my budget.

The problem is not the tow capacity but the payload. 1700ish goes fast with 15% on the tongue.
