Looking for a black knock around military style outdoor watch for around $200.00 or less . NOT a G-Shock . I just want it to tell time, no alarms or what the temperature is on Mt. Everest.
I like the looks of the Luminox line but from the reviews I’ve read they don’t hold up . Suggestions and links ?
Thanks in advance.

This Casio will leave you with a lot of leftover cash for beer and ammo.

You are correct, Luminox is fragile.

That is approximately the same as the Casio I have been wearing for a couple of decades.
I'm hard on everything and that watch just takes a beating. The band could be more comfortable, especially on the arm that has aftermarket metal rods embedded in the bones.

need more details.

Digital or analog?

Automatic or quartz?

Stay away from Luminox. I've had multiples and will replace my current one with a Casio. I'd highly consider any Casio in that price range and whatever you have left buy more Castios haha. Bertucci has some nice field watchs for the money also. You might be able to find a nice used Citizen or Seiko in your price range as well.

I've had this for close to 20 years, it's seen numerous batteries, a couple crystals and this is it's third band.

My Luminox sucked. But it came w/ a compass on the band that fits great on my sling

No watch for $100-200 will “hold up” well…. They’re disposable watches that are designed to sell more straps that won’t stand heavy long term use

I had good luck for 7 years or so with a blacked out Citizen Eco-Drive, it survived snorkeling, heavy backyard use, multiple drops from the top rack on deployment....everything but a trip on the back of my tailgate two weeks ago Since it was totally blacked out, the lume brightness just didn't exist but during the daytime it was just fine.

My thought too, but that's out of his price range.  My quartz Diver One was $280.

However, OP I recommend you bump up your budget and get a Scurfa Diver One.

I have this one.

I buy one of those (casio) every 10 years.
Because the battery lasts 10 years (sometimes 12).
And I can't break it. I have broken Timex, Tag-Heuer, Seiko and numerous other high end brands.
These I cannot break.

Look into Armourlite, they're a smallish outfit but their Isobrite line has been great for me, I replaced my titanium cased Luminox with an Iso3001 and love it. Probably a little out of budget, but if you find a used one its close. I bought a couple used ones for +/- $200, sent then off for $50 service and gave them as gifts to a couple good friends. Customer support is top notch too.

I've had 2 Every Day Watches in the past 35 years;

Timex IronMan 1987-2015 ish,

Around 2015 I replaced the IronMan with a Casio G-Shock.

Casio still going strong.

My Victorinox INOX mechanical is a beast.  A bit slow at -7sec per day but takes field work like champ.  The Quartz ones are quite a bit tougher than my mechanical.  Good looking, too!
