I've got a Tek 2247A that I can't bear to give up. New DSO's are flashy and take up a lot less space but I'm old school.

You have a ton of options.
Just not a lot of cheap ones.

I used a digital HP for years, loved it.  Are those not made in the USA?

Some HP/Agilent/Keysight scopes are made in the USA. Some Malaysia, others China.

Good luck.

Prepare to fork over big bucks.

Or look for older equipment.

I bought a nice working Tektronix scope off Ebay for $100.

I'd be kind of surprised if there wasn't some Korean stuff still being manufactured.

At one time, Gold Star Precision was selling them here in the US.

Get an old used CRO for under $50 somewhere.

I had to use a modern Rigol some at a previous job, hated it.

RIGOL is the low end Tektronix scope, they manufacture them.

Is there a reason you don’t want a Tektronix scope of today?

I often see stuff like that at garage sales in Florida. Some old Techy passes-on and his widow puts his gear out on the driveway. However, you want to get it before the afternoon thunderstorms hit.

Picoscope is popular in the automotive world, I think they fall under the made from globally sourced components and assembled in England.

Most low-end Tek scopes are now made in China.

Rigol actually manufactured some scopes for Tek that were sold under the Tektronix brand name.

Every time I go through the local antique malls I see at least one.  I keep thinking about buying one to put on my workbench just to make it look like I know what I'm doing with all of my little electronics projects.

Example of one I saw that I took a picture of to ask my brother about (he works with electronics for a living).

I got an old EICO kit scope back when I was in high school.
It was in a pawn shop with a tag that said "$50 one goofy TV thingy".

That would be a neat antique to have but not much practical use for modern electronics. Very low bandwidt and you'll be pulling your hair out with that continuous sweep. That means any waveform you wish to look at will be walking all over the place and will require constant tweaking. You can get a much nicer Tek for a couple hundred bucks off of ebay. It will have at least 20 Mhz of bandwidth and a triggered sweep and be far more useful.

Always owned and used Tek  310A to a pair 7603 scopes, 1 has 3L?? SA plugins and the other just s straight scope with 2 2 ch vertical plugins. Others, a Tek 921 storage scope and a bunch of TM 500 cases and plug ins

Only the Tek 921 has ever needed any service work other that re-calibrations. Had an arc over in a resistor divider box at 75 KV to ground, some serious damage and Tek STL had it back working in 4 days and no charge as it was still in warranty.

The electronic bay, Craig's list and large flea markets. Found a Tek 5110 scope for $50 working and a Fluke 8060A VM for $20 one day near Akron flea market.  Also a Sony digital camera for $2, all it needed was the optical sensor plugged back in and new batteries.

And their is a good support group on Group.IO as well as PDF archives of the manuals which were written for the user to fix his scope in the field.

what are your needs for a scope?

how fast?
v range?
storage (a/d)?
channels?
HP-IB/IEEE-488?

I have a Tek 2465A, old but very useable, depending on your application

I have a 2465 myself. The 24XX series are a great analog scope with a lot of nice features. You have cursors plus delta v and delta t options. Very handy things to have.

Rhode and Schwarz are also made in the Chech republic, Singapore and Malaysia.

There are a good few Keysight scopes made in China.

Teledyne Lacroy are also a toss up.  Some of their scopes are software neutered Siglents.

They don't have the character that the old iron has.  I like some of the equipment you post up.
