Short barrel, short stock. Remlin. I have no need for it. Should I neck beard it at 599?

I love my JM 336.  Price seems high except for all the nonsense going on.  I like that model and thought of picking one up back when they go on sale around $400.

If you want one in the next year, go for it.

Otherwise, wait for the Ruger produced version which will almost certainly be a better gun.

Got ammo? At $3 each it’s not likely a fun range toy

Yes for sure if you're thinking of a flip.  Make money now,  or potentially make more money later if semi-auto bans start getting discussed and lever guns become the hot thing to get ahold of

Prices and availability will not come down for a looooong time.  If the left gets some kind of AWB through, everyone will rush to buy the most legal firepower they can.  So demand will continue to outpace supply until everyone replaces their AR with a lever gun.  I hope it doesn't come to that but I think it probably will.  Ten years from now, we will be fighting airgun bans.

599 seems ok
I paid 399 for mine in 2015
Ammo makes it hard to plink with but it's a fun shooter.

I am picking one up tomorrow, JM stamped.  I paid $352.

I put the Y stock on my full size 336.  Perfect for scope use since the full stock put the scope too far from my eye.

I just paid that for a Rossi in 45LC, which is too much IMHO but I want a 45LC to go with my SA pistol.
I have another older M92 in 357 which I really like, so figured I’d go that route.

It’ll be my sixth lever gun, including two JM stamped Marlins (22lr, 45-70) and a ‘Remlin’ in 30-30.
70’s era Winnie 94 rounds out the collection.

It seems like the lever guns are getting speedy.., though I got the Remlin last July for $349 at a pawn shop I use for transfers. Good timing I guess.

Ammo is the hard part now if you don’t already have it. $3-4/rd for 30-30 is true insanity. May not get better for a bit either.

Grab it, shoot it as much as you can, and enjoy!

I was $400 pre-panic. I would still buy it because it's a great size for a full size man to wield around.

Have the exact model, paid $360 plus tax on veterans Day two years ago at Academy Sports

Left side of the barrel.  Just slightly forward of the receiver.

Of the five lever actions I own, my 336Y bought in 2019 has the slickest and sweetest action.  At 6'4" it's a very handy gun to tote around in the woods.

Price of metal has skyrocketed and won't return to previous prices. I would buy it and be glad you did when it cost $1200 by mid year.

Remlin?....Hard pass.....Except as trade-fodder.

It is usually a pretty deep stamping.

If it is there, it is noticeable

Edit:  never mind.  It’s a remlin. JM stamp is well before that timeline

Wow.  So prices on Remlins are skyrocketing.  I guess that JM stamped 336 in great condition I picked up a few years back for $250 was a good deal
