I don’t have to get up in the morning. I can sleep in till 9. I can drink till midnight and not have to face people in the morning? Of course I’m drinking more!

Quoted: Quoted: You're gonna want to be clear headed for what's coming. Train how you fight? Yup, I forget the exact words used. But I went thru a German castle from the late 1490-1520's or so. Their was an inscription over one of the doorways. That said words to the effect that a man should be drunk every night. Part of this was based on the time I think, since potable water was scarcer than wine. And also the life expectancy was much lower. A man was expected to impregnate lots of women, drink every night and fight every day. Because tomorrow could be the end of him. As it is for all of us, but to a much lesser degree thankfully! |

Quoted: I'm drinking like a 5th a week. Bourbon, neat. A gallon is fucking crazy bro. View Quote It started at a 5th a week. Then every few days. Then I’d buy the half gallons. Then... Then I’d wake up in the morning feeling alright, but with no recollection of the last 1-2 hours of the night or why my wife was pissed at me. |

I really need to. After my divorce 3 years ago it went up considerably but nothing crazy. Now after lockdowns, and all this turmoil its gotten bad. Usually about 8 beers a night, lateley 10-12 hasn't been uncommon. Still go to work every day on time, but i know its taking its toll. You are not alone.

I haven't been drinking much at all the past 12 months.
I can't remember drinking this little since before I was 16. Hell it took me the better part of 3 months to finish a 12 pack recently. I just feel the need to be doing something constructive with the little down time that I seem to have lately. Whether its tidying up storage rooms to make space for my long term food storage, loading up ammo, etc. Drinking gets in the way of that. |

I guess I realized I’d end up divorced, in jail, or dead if I didn’t stop. I haven’t had any physical withdrawal issues even though most would say someone at my level shouldn’t stop cold turkey. Getting back to weightlifting has helped a lot. It’s never been THAT difficult to not have any. But if I start, there’s no off switch. I miss it and think about it every day, especially with the current situation we find the country in. |

Shiiiiit. I was putting down a half gallon a day for over a year before the seizures and DTs started. It gets worse, never better. Alcohol isn’t your problem, it’s your current solution to a bigger problem.

Yeah I'm good for a handle a week. I prefer bourbon but i've switched to titos and soda as it slows me down a bit.

Quoted: With family problems, work stress and America's current situation I find I need to be sedated nightly. I keep telling myself I need to reign it in, but tommorow night is a good time to stop. Surely I'm not alone, am I ? View Quote I think a lot of us are taking the uncertainty hard, but I think if you look inward far enough, your problems didn't start with Joe Biden waiting for his Coronation next wednesday. Get help if you need to, none of your problems go away or get better if you drink yourself unconscious every night. Alcohol doesn't solve anything. |

I’ve been going through a lot of bourbon lately. If it weren’t for that, I probably would have started smoking again. That’s a road I really don’t want to go down again.

Hey, at least the beer is clean. It’s good to know how to brew beer. It could save your life during wartime. Brew beer and load ammo, you'll never be killed because your too useful! Seriously thou, like Whiskers was saying above. Our bodies adapt to whatever we put on them. Work hard and party hard. Not advocating too much, everything has limits. But I think there is a damn good reason why our livers are one of our biggest organs other than the lungs. Because mankind has been pounding back beers for thousands of years. So over the ages the ones that survived carried the genetics forward to develop the tolerance and organs to sustain serious drinking. Most of the others that drank died of heart or organ failure most likely. My .02 |

It's your life and your choices and your the only one who can make them.
I was a consummate alcoholic for many years, about 28 or so years ago I took a look at what I had lost due to drinking, it was more than I can ever make up for. That realization was enough for me to stop drinking and I've been sober ever since. |

Quoted: Make sure it's legal in your state and what not. Personally, I love the shit. There's a little bit of research you have to do. Different strains come from different places. And you have to cycle strains of you'll get tolerance. Red one day, white the other. Thai one day, Borneo the other kind of thing Red strains are more calming, white is more stimulating. I can't really tell the difference when I take it, either one just gives a calm relaxed optimistic feeling. Optimism is the one thing I really get from it. Generally, it's anxiolytic and analgesic also But again, do your research, make sure it's legal for you, but personally, with stuff like kratom around, drinking is stupid. Plus it's calorie free and no hangover or come down And it doesn't physically impair you at all View Quote What about it showing up in a drug test ? |
