We made our carport into a sunroom. Existing there are two led lights, we want 2 small ceiling fans. The lights have white, black and green wires. The fans have a blue wire….No idea, need help. Thanks!Attachment Attached File

Lights (should) be:

Black = hot
White = neutral
Green = ground

No installation instructions?
A picture of fan wires would help.

The fan wire colors don't necessarily
have to follow the usual black = hot color scheme,
but white and green should probably still be
white = neutral and green = ground.

Good luck!

ETA - You also should have boxes rated to hold fans
          due to the vibration that can loosen the attachment
          screws.

I have seen BLUE wire used for adding a light kit. Remove the lower cover from your ceiling fan and see if there is a loose blue wire for a light kit to get power from.

Can’t be certain on your instal though.

Twist the black and blue together on the fan, and connect it to the black wire.
White to white,  green to green.

When you turn on the switch it'll send power to the fan/ light.  Fan speed and light will be controlled by pull chains.

Make sure your boxes can hold a fan.

One more thing, kill power at switchbox.

I was going to add braced boxes for the weight of the fan. The wiring was my concern.

Make sure the braced boxes are fan rated. Not all are.

Some will say "50 lb limit" but those still are NOT fan rated. Fan boxes are explicitly stated as such.

Black has been the fan on every ceiling fan I've ever seen that has a separate wire for the light (kit). Light has always been blue...

...OP, be sure the box is solid & will support the fan

ETA: As williamunny stated above, connect the black & blue both to the black in the ceiling box. You,ll have to use the pull chains to individually control/switch the fan speeds & light.

Call your friendly local electrical contractor. That’s my advice.

Do you have any idea how hard it is to get any contractor to answer a phone, call you back or show up?

Are you asking for a free estimate?  I know it’s tough out there right now due to limited supply of qualified electricians

It’s not just electricians. In the last 4 months since we’ve bought our house I have tried to hire a fence company, hvac company to add a 2nd zone into our sunroom, spray foam, someone to build our sunroom, garage estimate, gutter installation, water filtration system, on and on. Most don’t answer the phone at all, some call you back, few show up.
