On top of this, I think Stryper is potentially the most underrated metal band full stop. Sweet has such an amazing voice, even to this day, whereas I cannot say the same about Bruce Dickinson, Ozzy, James Hetfield, et-cetera. Their last 5 or 6 albums were pure gold as well, they just keep getting better, unlike (again) Iron Maiden and friends.

I listened to his stuff with George Lynch recently.
He’s got a great voice, but the songs are still WAY too fucking preachy. Oz Fox was a pretty good guitarist for Stryper. George Lynch is still bad ass, of course. I’ll still take Bruce Dickenson any day. He kicked throat cancer’s ass and still wails.
