I've always been of the mindset that hypnotism is bullshit.
It's just doofuses doing what they are told to do.
I saw a "professional" hypnotist stage show many years ago.
He called several people up on stage and walked them through what was going to happen.
Along the way, he culled a few, sending them back to their seat.
All the ones who were left did exactly as he told them, along with "forgetting" what they had done and everything.
But maybe that's all there is to it. The "power of suggestion" is literally just a lack of skepticism.
The desire of a certain segment of the population to "go along with it".
Is it possible that a huge portion of the American public has been "hypnotized" into believing what they see on the magic light box?
Are they all just afraid of getting thrown off the stage, so they go along with the show?
Is everyone really gullible, or are they just playing along because it's what's expected?
My faith in humanity is lower than ever.
