Governor Desantis says millions will be effected by this time tomorrow. EV owners are strongly encouraged to remain indoors and are advised that it may be unsafe to reconnect any unplugged vehicles that are outside for the next 24-48 hours. |

Same thing as we saw last winter, EV's can keep the heat on as long or longer than ICE sitting stuck on the freeway in the snow. |

View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: Quoted: Quoted: How do you evacuate with a dead EV? That said, the same way you would with a gas car which has an empty tank. You don't. If there is gas, you could run a generator, in theory. If there isn't gas... well... no one with an ICE car is getting their friends to bring them gas cans. (And I thought the roads were jammed in this scenario anyway? Oh well.) ... Point is, if you wait to the last second to evacuate with an empty tank... you are a retard, regardless of what you drive. ... Get to anywhere with power and you can charge off 120V if you have to... it would suck. But it would suck less than all the gas stations for miles being empty. |

Quoted: It does, but it is in fact better in an EV. If you aren't running the A/C or heat, the EV has a much lower fuel use at "idle". It's just sitting there keeping the electronics/dash lights on.
